Weekend sport in brief

BOWLS: It was not a good weekend for Jersey's bowlers, playing away in the CI finals at Hougue du Pommier, with Guernsey winning seven of the ten titles. Successful were the men's fours, Thomas Greechan, John Lowery, Alan Shaw and Jamie MacDonald who beat Trebert, Dorey, Collins and Le Ber 20-17; John Lowery who won the men's U25s, beating Daniel de la Mare 21-11; and Lindsey Greechan who won the ladies U25s against Lianna Bichard 21-15. The winners will represent the CI at the men's and women's British Isles championships.


Netball:Jersey lead the way despite defeat

MOORE Stephens Jersey netball team now top Division IV of the England County League after they won their match against Somerset, 69-23 but lost against the team from Avon - which featured two England players, a Wales international and three FENA-rated players in their side.
