TABLE TENNIS: The Channel Islands Top 12 tournament held at the Geoff Reed Centre on Saturday featured Guernsey’s Phil Ogier retaining his title in the senior event with Paul Marshall second.
The junior event was won by Jersey’s Andy Gallichan.
RUGBY UNION: IN atrocious conditions at Trojans RFC yesterday afternoon, Hampshire lost their first encounter in this season’s under-20 County Championship 3-11 to Sussex.
Jersey centre Ross Allan and the rest of his threes barely saw the ball in a forward-dominated game, and although the Hampshire back row played well there were far too many knock-ons and spilled passes in a game which was ruined, as a spectacle, by the weather.
