THE first big-name casualty of the States cost-cutting exercise has been announced today with Tourism chief officer Elizabeth Jeffreys being made redundant.
Mrs Jeffreys applied for voluntary redundancy and it is understood the decision to grant it was taken to allow further cost-cutting measures to be implemented. Her latest five-year contract was due to expire in September next year but she left her post today.
She had no comment to make when contacted today by the JEP.The least she can expect to be paid is 18 months salary under the terms of States policy on redundancy.
