PEOPLE wishing to become volunteers can now search online to chose a charity to help.
At www.thisisjersey.com/volunteering, people will be able search a directory of over 120 charitable and community organisations who are actively seeking volunteers.The website, which operates in conjunction with the Jersey Evening Post, is the first of its kind in the Island and allows users to type in a search name or field to find a charity that best suits their time and abilities.There is information on the various charities and also a link to either their website or e-mail address.’There has been a booklet produced by the Health Promotion Unit which lists charities but this website enables people to search a lot easier,’ said website creator Darren Umney of the Guiton Group.
