SENATOR Philip Ozouf was elected president of Environment and Public Services by the States this morning.
In a three-horse race he secured 40 votes, beating Deputy Gerard Baudains into second place with 14 votes.
Deputy Rob Duhamel gained five votes.’I'm pleased by the level of support I’ve received and I’m very pleased the States have agreed to have confidence in what I’ve said in my speech,’ said Senator Ozouf.In this speech he said that he wanted to undertake a review of the committee’s work and publish the outcome within 100 days.
This would outline the committee’s agreed objectives for the 18 months left.
