JERSEY’S young people should be given increased facilities, says the first ever strategy for the development of the Jersey Youth Service.
A three-year plan was presented to the States today, accompanied by news of an additional £80,000 investment for 2004 by the Education, Sport and Culture Committee.
The money is to be spent developing a senior management team for the Youth Service, increasing administrative support and training and supporting volunteers.The plan is the result of two years’ investigation and consultation with young people and could lead to the introduction of youth cafés around the Island.
