Buyers fail to do lordship’s bidding

A CHANCE to play lord of the manor on the Ecréhous has attracted only one bid from a bogus buyer on auction site ebay.com.

The title Prince and Lordship of Ecreho - as it is spelled on the site - complete with family crest, was posted on ebay for a minimum price of £95,000, which was the reserve set by the anonymous seller. However, the seller was hoping for as much as £250,000 from the sale. The title was posted on ebay by a company called Noble Titles, which deals with buying and selling all kinds of aristocratic titles.

The company also advertised the opportunity on its own website, nobility.co.uk.
