FIREFIGHTERS rescued a 64-year-old man from the landing outside his burning flat last night.
They said he was suffering from the effects of smoke and was lucky to walk away from the blaze in his second floor flat at Commercial Buildings just before 11 pm.Other flats in the block were evacuated as a precaution.
