ENVIRONMENT and Public Services still want a tourist bus service to operate in Jersey, despite their successful court action against Easylink.
Yesterday the Royal Court ruled that Easylink had been operating in breach of the law.
Directors of the ‘hop on, hop off’ service were ordered not to start up the service again this summer and were also informed that Public Services are considering legal action for damages. But Senator Philip Ozouf, the president of the Environment and Public Services Committee, said: ‘My personal preliminary view is that such tourist services should be provided.
If my committee agrees, we will then work quickly to establish the licensing framework and timetable for decisions to be made.
