Combination Division I leaders ripped their opponents to pieces to chalk up 17 goals for the second time this season having defeated Sporting Academics 17-1 at Les Quennevais last December.Muratti striker Ross Crick scored seven times, to take his season’s total to 48, while Ged McConnell (four), Mark Brown (three), Lee Harvey (two) and Craig Ferey were also on target.Scottish manager Bob Kearsey said: ‘It was a weird day, Wanderers started well and I thought we were going to have a really tough game.
But we countered their early threat before taking the lead after nine minutes.
Two goals in a quick spell shortly after put us three-up and by half time it was 7-0.’Their heads did go down a bit but credit my lads they are playing really well.
They’re creating chances and taking them.
They are also not taking their foot off the pedal either when they go infront; our last three games have been 17-0, 8-0 and 9-0.’Results like this are embarrassing for the league and I certainly didn’t expect to see it especially as Wanderers are in third place in the table.’Wanderers manager Martyn Stratford said: ‘Anything that could go wrong for us went wrong for us.
I have never seen anything like it before and hopefully it will never be repeated while I am Wanderers’ manager.’Scottish are a fantastic side, I’ve said that all season.

We have four games left and 12 points to gain and I want to gain them all.’Wanderers, who probably fielded a stronger side than the one beaten 7-0 by second-placed Trinity three weeks ago, were without Muratti goalkeeper Jimmy Styles through injury while Island captain Chris Andrews failed to take the field after half time because of a groin injury.
Wanderers also had Neil Cabot sent off early in the second half following two cautions.A total of 20 goals were scored in the other four Division I matches.Champions Trinity, with a game in hand, stretched their unbeaten league run to 36 games after winning 4-1 away to one-from-bottom Rozel Rovers.
Paul Crompton and Darren Swanson both scored twice for the winners and Marco Vieira bagged Rozel’s consolation.Magpies moved seven points clear of the second relegation place after they returned 2-0 winners from relegation-threatened St Peter.Jason Newman scored two fine goals for the winners while Mark Rondel impressed on his début in goal for the same team.
St Peter’s defeat was marred by a broken leg suffered by junior player Simon A’Court.Sixth-placed First Tower, who were pegged back to 2-2 after leading 2-0, defeated fourth-placed Portuguese Club3-2 at La Hague Manor.
Scott Jones scored Tower’s winner with a diving header.
Martin Higgins and Chris Carter fired Tower ahead before Pedro Lopes hit a brace to level the scores at half time.Craig Leitch scored a hat-trick against his former club as St Paul’s beat relegated Sporting Academics 8-0 at Clos des Pauvres.
Glen Durrans, Brett Pitman, Steve Cumming and Robbie Whittaker were also on target while Accies stand-in goalkeeper Toni Cardoso - sporting a pair of gardening gloves - pulled off several excellent saves.St Martin ended a run of 13 games without a victory to move into the semi-finals of Division II’s Touzel Memorial Trophy knock-out competition on Saturday.An own goal, two from Rob Lucas and a 25-yard shot from Claude Batista took St Martin to a 4-2 win away at St Brelade.

Graham Prescott hit a pair and Derek Johnston a single for St John while Sporting Club’s goals came courtesy of Mark Nightingale and Zack Pires.The semi-final line-up is St John v St Lawrence, on Tuesday 23 March, and Grouville v St Martin, on Thursday 25 March.

Dave Alexander with a penalty and Jordan Ahier replied.Trinity won 3-0 away to St Clement following goals by Lee Blance, junior Richard Parker and Graham Ling.St Peter are relegated to Reserves Division II after they were beaten by the odd-goal in 13 at the Hockey Club, playing against Jersey Wanderers.
St Peter staged a tremendous fight back to level the scores at six-all after trailing 6-2 with 30 minutes to play.St Peter hit the woodwork in the final minute and from the rebound Wanderers went up the other end to score the deciding goal.
Jamie Smith (three), Goran Mickovski, Gerry Monaghan and juniors Karl Stoodley and Jordan Rea scored for Wanderers and Mark Stewart (three), Colin Wood (two) and Phil Le Rossignol for St Peter.It was a different story further up the road as St Brelade and St John featured in a goal-less draw at St Brelade.Unbeaten Magpies won the Reserves Division II championship following their 13th win in 14 divisional games.
There were hat-tricks for Matt Pamplin and Mick Siouville and a single by Paul Cosgrove in the ‘Pies’ 7-0 win against bottom-team Sporting Club.Second-placed Portuguese beat Sporting Academics 7-1 at Les Quennevais to avenge a 4-2 defeat earlier in the season.
Duarte Ferreira hit a hat-trick against his former club; Manuel Brito (two), Paulo Rodrigues, Jose Costa and Fabio Ferreira also scored for Portuguese and John Gouveia for Accies.Rozel Rovers, who have a couple of games in hand, slipped two points behind Portuguese after they shared four goals away to St Lawrence.
Rozel, who had Lee Herridge sent off following two cautions, went ahead through Dave Brennan and junior Dale Parker only for the hosts to hit back with a brace from Chris Stephens.St Ouen, who can still gain promotion, won 6-1 at the FB Fields against Beeches Old Boys.
Scott Samson (three), Lionel Gomes, Scott Roberts and Adam Sansom were on target for the victors and Paul Skinner for the losers.Jersey Wanderers and St Ouen moved into the second round of the Securicor Locksmiths Trophy for C Division teams.
Two goals from Jon Chapman and one from Jack McKenna secured Wanderers a 3-0 success against Rozel Rovers at Les Quennevais.Charlie du Feu scored four times in St Ouen’s 7-3 win against Beeches Old Boys at St Ouen.
Dave Evans (two) and Dave Wright also netted for the hosts and Bob Bonney (two) and Cormac Timothy for the visitors.
