A TEENAGER was due to appear in the Youth Court today charged with causing the death by dangerous driving of passenger Mark Jowett (17), who died after the car they were in crashed on St Saviour’s Hill.
Mr Jowett, a Highlands College student, died in Southampton Hospital on 10 January - seven days after the accident - as a result of his serious head injuries.He was a back-seat passenger in the car, which hit a wall and overturned.
There were two other passengers in the vehicle.This is the first court appearance by the 17-year-old accused of causing his death.
