THE Seigneur of Trinity, Steve Morgan, has reportedly launched a takeover bid for Liverpool Football Club.
Life-long Liverpool supporter Mr Morgan, who is worth an estimated £304 million, is said to have made a bid for the Premiership Club in the region of £50m.
But this morning the club refused to make any official comment on the supposed bid, apart from the fact they have appointed accountants to ‘consider the options’.With a five per cent stake in Liverpool, Mr Morgan is the club’s third biggest shareholder.
Chairman David Moores has a 51 per cent majority stake, while Granada owns ten per cent.
Mr Morgan (51), who has a home in St Brelade, has increased his wealth by £57m recently and is reported to have built an £8m house in Cheshire since splitting from his wife Pam, who owns and still lives in Trinity Manor.
Mr Morgan retained his seigneurship of the parish after his divorce.
