HOLIDAYS in Jersey will be advertised on national television next month for the first time in many years.
A £300,000 campaign will be featured on Channel 4, Channel 5 and on satellite stations in an attempt to raise the Island’s profile as a destination.
Up to another £40,000 will be spent making the commercials. The news was given to an audience of hoteliers by the chairman of the Tourism Board, Deputy Lyndon Farnham, on Friday. He told the annual general meeting of the Jersey Hospitality Association it had been possible to secure a budget for funding a new 20-second television commercial which will go on air between the 5 and 18 April.’The timing coincides with the regional spring press campaign and the start of summer air and sea schedules and should boost the all important post-Easter period.
The airtime budget is about £300,000 and will buy sufficient airtime for the commercial to be seen by 52% of our target audience 2.6 times,’ said the Deputy.
