THE Jersey Battle of Flowers will run only one way down Victoria Avenue this year.
At a meeting held at Grouville Parish Hall last night all the exhibitors taking part in the event were informed of the change.The Battle of Flowers Association refused to confirm it this morning, but are expected to announce the move away from tradition at a press conference this evening .
Those at last night’s meeting with the association were told that the revitalisation of the Battle was intended to encourage not only more tourists to attend the event, but also more Islanders.
Exhibitors were also informed that their guarantees for this year would remain the same as the previous year, when there was a ten per cent drop in funding.
