Police concerned for missing man

THE police are concerned for the welfare of a 39-year-old man who has been missing from his Gorey home since Friday.

John James Rafferty (39) left his shared house at 4.30 pm as if he was going to the pub as normal, but has not been seen since.

He was reported missing at 11.30 pm yesterday.’The family he lives with and who are good friends said he was in good spirits when he left,’ said P insp Chris Beechey.

‘We are concerned for his welfare as this is not his normal behaviour.’He added that officers had started to make inquiries with family members in Ireland, where Mr Rafferty was born.Mr Rafferty is described as being slim with a long face and chin, and long, mid-brown hair.

He was wearing light-brown trousers, a dark-brown top, a light-brown jacket and desert boots, and did not take a bag or anything to indicate he intended to stay away.He is known to drink in pubs in Gorey and Grouville.Anyone who has seen Mr Rafferty should call the police on 612612.
