HOLOGRAPHIC artist Chris Levine, commissioned by Jersey to produce an official Royal portrait of the 1204-2004 celebrations, is today at Buckingham Palace for a second sitting with the Queen.
The first sitting for the £150,000 innovative portrait took place in the palace’s yellow drawing room last November.
Mr Levine said the Queen so enjoyed the experience that he was offered the opportunity to return to make sure he had all the material he needed.The portrait will be unveiled on 23 June, it is hoped by a senior member of the Royal Family, but this has yet to be confirmed.
The finished portrait will remain under wraps until then.
It will comprise a lifesize 3-D image of the Queen’s head, encapsulated in a thin sheet of glass.
Permission has been given to reproduce the image in other forms for official uses.Mr Levine is a highly respected, internationally renowned artist, better known for his work in the worlds of light installation, rock and fashion.He said the Queen soon calmed his nerves and he was looking forward to today’s sitting.
