Brook seek more funds

JERSEY Brook are seeking additional funding for testing for sexually transmitted diseases.

They are acting on reports at their contraceptive advice centre that an increasing number of young people have had more than one sexual partner over a weekend.Centre manager Bronia Lever said they want to set up screening of 14- to 24-year-olds for sexually transmitted diseases and this is now one of their priorities for this year. However, the introduction of that service depends on the centre having enough funds. The screening sessions would be for young men and women who, along with any necessary treatment, would be provided with information about how to take up safer sexual practices.
