THE masseur who was found guilty of sexually assaulting five of his female patients was due to be sentenced by the Royal Court today.
Joao Figueira used his position as a cranial specialist to indecently assault some of his patients, feeding them stories that ‘their tubes were blocked’, which he said was preventing them from having a fulfilling sex life.
In December an assize jury of nine women and three men took nearly six hours to convict Figueira of the offences.
He has been remanded in custody since his trial.All of the incidents took place while he worked at the Ultimate Body Clinic in Bath Street between June 2000 and September 2002.
