A 32-YEAR-OLD man is fighting for his life after a ‘terrifying’ assault by four men in Traders Music Bar at the Weighbridge on Saturday night.
He suffered head injuries and remains unconscious.
The man was one of two assaulted in the pub after words were exchanged between them and four other men.
The second victim did not need hospital treatment.The head of the CID, Det Insp Bob Bonney, described the attack today as a terrifying and serious outbreak of violence in a confined, busy public house.’This horrendous attack, which was unprovoked, is at the extreme end of seriousness, and it has left a man in hospital fighting for his life,’ he said.The victim works in the Island, and police are trying to trace his family.Two men aged 26 and 34 were arrested yesterday in relation to the attack and were due to be questioned this morning.
