DETAILS of a brawl that left a man fighting for his life were revealed in court yesterday.
Sonar Isik (32) is still unconscious and in a critical condition in hospital after being punched twice while having a drink with a friend in Traders, in Mulcaster Street, on Saturday night.The man he was with, Mohammed Nafkha, was also ’set upon’ by the men, but suffered less serious injuries, with a split lip and bruising.The Magistrate’s Court heard yesterday that the incident had happened at 10.30 on a busy Saturday night and had been caught on closed circuit television cameras.Police legal adviser Susie Sharpe told the court that all three defendants were facing very serious charges and another man involved in the fight was still at large.
She said: ‘As the fight took place at 10.30 pm in a busy pub there were a large number of witnesses who have come forward to give statements to the police following a press appeal.’
