Barette right on cue

THE 2004 Island Snooker champion is Jon Barette, who beat Kurt Jones in the final at the Mechanics’ Institute last night by four frames to two.

In a match that lasted over three hours and which was notable for the formidable amount of safety play, Barette came back from a 2-0 deficit to level at 2-2 before the interval.With no high breaks - averages of around 25 - Barette then took the next two frames to win the coveted title.His next task will be to take on the Guernsey champion later this month.
