DEPUTY Bob Hill says the States must take decisive action over the composition of the States by finally adopting the Clothier recommendations.
With the next round of elections less than 18 months away, he wants Members to decide once and for all the Island’s political make-up, even if some could be put out of a job.
In spite of three committees addressing the subject over three and a half years, there is still no consensus among Members, and the special committee responsible have now stepped back from the latest proposal to replace parish-based voting in favour of super-constituencies.
The committee’s president, Deputy Roy Le Hérissier, said that they were looking for a ’steer’ from States Members.
