THE Strategic Plan debate began in the States yesterday, but did not get very far.
After Policy and Resources Committee president Senator Frank Walker proposed the preamble, debate began on the first of four amendments - and the only one that P&R is unwilling to accept.
But after over two hours, the House was still undecided as to whether to accept the amendment by Deputy Geoff Southern, which proposes a 0.25 per cent a year growth rate in the Island’s working population as opposed to P&R’s one per cent.
The debate will continue next Tuesday.
