One night only with John Cleese

FAWLTY Towers star John Cleese will be flying in from America next month to star in a show at the Opera House to raise funds for wildlife conservation.

Mr Cleese, who achieved fame in the cult comedy series Monty Python’s Flying Circus, will be appearing in a production entitled An Audience with John Cleese featuring him in conversation with BBC TV journalist Robert Hall about his life and career.

All funds raised by the event will go to the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust of which he has been a long-standing supporter.

Now living in the USA, Mr Cleese will be making this appearance in the Island for one night only on Sunday 1 August.

Mr Cleese’s conversation with Robert Hall, who is from Jersey and started his career at Channel Television, will be interspersed with clips of him in action.

Mr Cleese was co-writer of the Monty Python series and that team also created four very successful films including The Life of Brian and The Meaning of Life.
