FIVE young people who carried out a bomb hoax in March which gridlocked town traffic and led to nine buildings being evacuated were sentenced in the Royal Court yesterday
Sebastian Gasulla-Sole (19), Kerrie Ann Moignard (20), Matthew Paul (19), a 17-year-old and a 14-year-old youth were told by Deputy Bailiff Michael Birt that the court viewed what they had done as very serious, particularly during a time of risk of terrorist activity.
The first four defendants had already spent the equivalent of six months in youth custody.
Gasulla-Sole was given a sentence of 12 months and Moignard, Paul and the 17-year-old youth were told that if they had not already served six months they would have faced a nine-month sentence.
However, they were given 120 hours of community service to complete.
The 14-year-old was bound over to be of good behaviour on strict curfew conditions.
