THE former Defence Secretary and Tory leadership candidate Michael Portillo (pictured left) is to address this year’s annual dinner of the Institute of Directors in November.
The MP for Kensington and Chelsea, who announced last year that he would not be seeking another term in the Commons at the next general election, will speak to local branch members and guests at the Hotel de France on Saturday 13 November.
Mr Portillo is the second high-profile Tory in as many years for the IoD in Jersey.
Last year the former leader William Hague amused the branch with his anecdotal tales of life at Westminster.
