Teenager hurt in attack by a gang of girls

A 17-YEAR-OLD female was taken to hospital after being attacked by ten other young women as she walked home through Le Geyt Flats on Friday night.

The police describe the attack as totally unprovoked.

It is believed she was talking to friends when she was allegedly set upon by the other group of girls between 10.30 pm and 11 pm.

The attack happened outside the basketball recreation area of the States housing estate.

Among her injuries, the girl sustained a black eye and cuts to both the inside and outside of her mouth.

There were also several lumps on her head and bruising to her back as a result of being kicked and punched.

Police say that no one has yet been arrested or questioned in connection with the alleged assault.
