THE Jersey branch of the Institute of Directors is urging States Members to give their full support to the newly-approved Strategic Plan.
The government policy document, which will set the States agenda for the next five years, was approved on Tuesday by 32 votes to 13.
One of the more controversial proposals contained within the plan is to grow the working population by one per cent per annum.
During the debate the Plan was variously described as ‘a wish list’ and ‘mumbo jumbo’ by some politicians.
IoD chairman Andrew Lewis said: ‘In our view it is absolutely critical that States Members are seen to unanimously support the plan if the public are to gain confidence in it.
Without that public confidence and support some of the more controversial and difficult decisions will be even more difficult to move forward.
