THE first screening of Simply the Best was the most popular ITV show on Saturday night with children, audience figures have revealed.
However, the number of adults watching the game show recorded in Jersey was less than half of the total who tuned in to BBC1’s Casualty drama series, according to Viewingfigures.tv.
A total of 2.73m adults and 565,800 youngsters aged between four and 15 watched Simply the Best, which was recorded on the St Helier waterfront.
But Casualty had 6.72m adult viewers and 588,150 children tuned in.
However, Jersey Tourism’s public relations manager Mike Tait said that the Island had every reason to be delighted with the way it came over during the national TV broadcast.
