THE First Tower Institute Billiard and Snooker Club are hoping to pocket a tidy sum tomorrow when eight States Members come to visit them for a fund-raising night.
Senators Frank Walker, Terry Le Sueur, Paul Routier, Mike Vibert and Dick Shenton, Deputy Phil Rondel and the Constable of St Helier, Simon Crowcroft, and Constable of St John, Richard Dupré, will all take on club players on the night.
The club want to refurbish their premises and are trying to raise around £12,000 to do it.
They say that with new furnishings they will be able to increase their membership.
In the glory days of the First Tower Institute Billiard and Snooker Club they had well over 100 members, but the total has slipped down to 55, and they are in danger of losing money.
Secretary Peter Turner wrote to Education, Sport and Culture assistant director Derek de la Haye in March asking for funds to help complete a £12,000 refurbishment, the first the club will have had for 20 years.
