SENATOR Paul Le Claire has married his ballerina girlfriend in Moscow.
The pair tied the knot on Thursday 15 July and will be returning to the Island this Friday.
Senator Le Claire proposed to Natalia underneath the ‘Romeo and Juliet’ balcony in Verona in December after he had known her for just under a year.
Speaking from Moscow, the Senator said he would be returning to the Island on Friday after a ‘quite special’ ceremony.
He said a government-provided orchestra played at the service, which was more a civil occasion than a religious one.
Senator Le Claire (41) is a Roman Catholic and his new bride (29) belongs to the traditional Russian Orthodox Church.
‘I met Natalia when she was over with the Moscow Ballet in March last year,’ he said.
‘We kept in touch and I spent Christmas and New Year with her in Moscow.’
