TRAFFIC is to be reversed in Cattle Street in a bid to alleviate the gridlock in the area.
The St Helier roads committee took the decision today for a trial period.
There had been calls for Halkett Place to be put back to how it was while Union Street is closed for sewer works, but the Constable of St Helier, Simon Crowcroft, said that the parish did not have the power to take that decision because Halkett Place is a States road.
Environment and Public Services were also keen to let the Halkett Place trial run its course despite the traffic problems, he said.
