THE 1204-2004 Flag of Flags has almost disappeared in a sea of weeds.
The symbol of the Island’s 800th anniversary of allegiance to the Crown, emblazoned on a Gorey hillside to provide a backdrop for Prince Charles’ visit and the Jersey Revels in June, has been overwhelmed by weeds.
The brainchild of artist Ian Rolls, the giant logo was, until recently, a fluttering piece of contemporary art based on the ancient practice of drawing on the landscape.
However, all did not go well from the start when grass seed planted to provide a green backdrop was washed away.
Also, the ground was not sufficiently cleared of weeds so they have taken over.
