THE Silver Springs Hotel in Route des Genêts is to become a nursing home, if Planning approve an application submitted this week.
Guardian Care Homes (UK) Ltd wants to make alterations to provide 77 bedrooms and five one-bedroom apartments for residential care for the elderly.
The UK company - not to be confused with Guardian Nursing Services at Little Grove - announced earlier this month that it was planning a £10 million investment in the Island, but at the time did not confirm which hotel was in line for a change.
Guardian already runs the Bon Air nursing home, which it acquired in February.
Work has started to create an extra 20 bedrooms there.
The company says it plans to recruit 80 staff, at all grades, and to buy an apartment block in which to house its employees.
