More changes to traffic in town

MORE proposals to change the traffic flow in St Helier have been announced today.

The changes, intended to ‘enhance and regenerate the western edge of the town centre,’ have been approved by Environment and Public Services and include reversing the traffic flow in Devonshire Place, Le Geyt Street and Union Street between New Street and Le Geyt Street.

York Street will become one-way between Charing Cross and Dumaresq Street, and a public open space will be created at Charing Cross where the Jersey Heritage Trust will position its 1204-2004 public sculpture project.
