THE charity round-the-Island swim yesterday in aid of Papworth Hospital by a team including a man who has had a quintuple heart bypass proved to be a great success.
Charlie Gravett (60) and the team from the Jersey Telecoms Sea Swimmers started the venture early in the morning from the Elizabeth Castle breakwater.
They returned there at 6.45 pm - ten hours 22 mins and 24 secs later.
The team included Charlie’s wife, Sally Minty-Gravett, as well as Lucy Biard, Martine Le Guilcher, Lee Sowter and Dee Richards.
Today, Sally was going off to Dover to take part in a long-distance relay swim to Jersey.
Charlie was planning on having a beer.
