News from the Jersey Evening Post

It could have been us

TWO Jersey rowers were asked to join the Atlantic rowing attempt that so nearly ended in tragedy this week.

John Searson and Ian Anderson were contacted by team leader Mark Stubbs at the end of last year and offered two of the four places on Pink Lady - which broke up in huge seas on Sunday 370 miles from England.

The two Jersey rowers, who have both crossed the south Atlantic in the past, are friends of Mr Stubbs and have joined him on previous rowing record attempts.

Both declined the places owing to work commitments.
