‘Lottery-winning rapist lived in our house’

A COUPLE in St Ouen who let a room to convicted rapist Iorworth Hoare were stunned to hear he had scooped over £7m on the National Lottery.

Andrea and Peter Le Guilcher, who rented a room to Hoare in 1988, described him as ‘creepy’ and ‘obsessed with gameshows’.

Mrs Le Guilcher said: ‘I couldn’t believe it when I saw his face on the news yesterday and heard his name.’ Hoare rented a room from the couple in their Ville de la Croix lodging house in 1988 while he worked at a nearby witchcraft centre at l’Etacq.

‘I did not like him and after a month gave him a week’s notice,’ said Mrs Le Guilcher.
