Town markets to get a £750,000 facelift

WORK on a £750,000 facelift of the Central and fish markets will begin next month.

And a separate project to replace the glass roof will begin in 2008.

The plans are part of an Environment and Public Services commitment to preserve the town markets.

The first phase of the work will include making the markets wind and watertight; decorating the external railings and gates; and resurfacing the Central Market floor.
