BATTLE 2004 may have opened in torrential rain, but nothing stopped the new-look parade from being a success.
And no float could stop St Clement Battle of Flowers Association from making it a hat-trick of Prix d’Honneurs as their floral float Siam earned them the top accolade.
They also won the inter-parochial challenge trophy, their class award and the prize for the best set piece with their archer.
The St Clement team did not finish sticking the flowers on their float until 11.15 yesterday morning, but their determination was well worth it.
This morning designer Marcus Davies said: ‘We are really pleased.
When we arrived in the park I thought none of the others looked as big or had as much detail as ours, which may have been why we won.’ a class=”"houslinks”" href=”"../galleries/bofgallery.html”">Battle gallery and Results/a>
