PLANNING have approved the idea of converting the Lido de France into a medical centre.
The applications sub-committee on Wednesday gave in-principle consent to the Hotel de France to convert the entertainment centre into a purpose-built centre housing up to 20 GPs.
The hotel now intends to draw up detailed plans.
If these are approved, the builders will probably move in around the beginning of October.
‘This is good news, but we were confident that Planning would look favourably at our proposal because the basis of our idea was the Island Plan,’ said project director James Baker.
