Passengers in nine-hour wait as Weymouth ferry is delayed

HUNDREDS of passengers faced a nine-hour delay today after the sailing of Condor Express was cancelled this morning.

Condor’s Jersey manager Steve Bailey said that the vessel experienced technical problems as it was leaving Weymouth.

She eventually left at 10.34 am, but because of the tides was not able to get into Jersey.

‘She was directed to head for Guernsey, where she was scheduled to resume her normal sailing pattern,’ said Mr Bailey.

‘As a result, she was due to come back to Jersey this evening and sail at 8.35 pm with all this morning’s passengers on board.

We regret what has happened and we apologise to everyone who has been inconvenienced as a result.’
