HIGH security measures to cope with violent and unpredictable prisoners are to be installed in the new Magistrate’s Court building.
The main remand court, one of three courts in the building, will be fitted out with glass security screen separating the public from the court.
Magistrate Ian Le Marquand said it was impossible to provide an appropriate level of security in the current premises.
‘We must have one court with very high security because we could literally have anybody in the dock, including terrorists or mass murderers,’ he said.
