BADMINTON: Jersey retained the Veterans inter-insular shield on Saturday, at the Rohais Centre in Guernsey, with a 16-14 overall victory. Jersey won the men's doubles 6-3 and the mixed 7-5, despite having to concede two matches in the mixed after the unbeaten Ian Coombs-Goodfellow was injured. Guernsey won the ladies doubles 6-3. Jersey player Anton Kriel won the Mahy Trophy for best individual performance.
