Island ‘could be leader in world of IT’

JERSEY could be poised to become a leading international centre for computer software development.

Phil Balderson, the founder of Webreality, reckons the Island has everything going for it.

‘It’s low tax, it’s outside the EU bureaucracy - and it’s a great place to live,’ he said.

There are also great opportunities thanks to Economic Development Minister Philip Ozouf’s clampdown on UK companies exploiting Jersey’s tax laws by using the Island as a centre for the fulfilment industry.

From a standing start seven years ago Webreality now claims to be one of the leading website providers in the Channel Islands.
