Remembering July 7

ISLANDERS joined thousands across the country in observing a two-minute silence at midday today to mark the first anniversary of the London bombings.

The time was a chance to reflect on the day suicide bombers wreaked havoc on the underground and a double-decker bus, leaving 52 people dead.

Many Islanders were in London on that day.

Two of those people, the former Comptroller of Income Tax and his wife, Bob Gaiger and Mary Gaiger, today recall their memories of that terrible day.
