Ex-England footballer comes back to his roots at St Paul’s

EX-PLAYERS and officials of St Paul’s Football Club are having a reunion night with former England player Graeme Le Saux next week.

Le Saux joined Chelsea on the start of his glittering professional career nearly 20 years ago and with him being in the Island next week with BBC Television, to record a programme about Jersey life, the club and Le Saux will meet up on Tuesday night at the Ambassadeur Hotel.

St Paul’s president Charlie Browne said: ‘There was a strong bond between the junior and senior sides of the 1986/87 season and we are working hard on getting everyone together for what promises to be a great reunion evening.

‘We’ve all got a buzz from Graeme’s career over the years and although he has been back to Jersey many times there are people he hasn’t seen since last playing for the Club.

‘Anyone with a St Paul’s connection is welcome to attend, all they have to do is get in touch with Paul Sowney {07797 722 996} who is organising the event together with Peter Taylor.’ The programme is being filmed for Working Lunch - BBC 2’s award-winning daytime business, personal finance and consumer news show presented by Adrian Chiles, a colleague of Le Saux’s on Match of the Day last season.

The BBC will be filming for five days starting from next Monday.
