Eco-lodge plans go in

A FORMER golf driving range could become an eco-friendly holiday village.

Les Ormes Golf and Leisure Village have applied to build 24 lodges on the site that was closed last year. The closure angered golfers, but the trustees of the Bosdet Foundation, the charitable trust that owns the centre, were told by manager Mike Graham that the driving range had become unsafe. They hope that this scheme will raise more money for the foundation to update facilities at Les Ormes and invest in further charitable projects in Jersey. The lodges will be set in a woodland environment and built with eco-friendly materials including cedarwood with newspaper or sheep’s wool insulation.
