A SUSPECTED drug smuggler has been brought back to Jersey on a warrant to face a charge of importing heroin into the Island.
Pedro Alexandro Jesus de Conceicao (25) was arrested in London yesterday and flown to Jersey. He was due to appear in the Magistrate’s Court today. De Conceicao is jointly charged with 39-year-old José Manuel de Sousa Nobrega, of London, and 23-year-old José Franco, of St Saviour, who are accused of importing heroin on 22 April. The men are accused of importing £28,000 of the Class A drug, which was seized by police on 21 April. Nobrega and Franco were both arrested that night - Nobrega in Colomberie at the junction with Grenville Street and Franco at a house in St Saviour. Nobrega had arrived on a flight from Gatwick earlier that day.
