AN electoral commission is being proposed to sort out States reform.
Deputy Andrew Lewis says the process needs to be taken out of the politicians’ hands because they appear incapable of making decisions on the issue. He says retired Commonwealth politicians and political experts should form an electoral commission to come up with definitive plans for reforming the States. In the wake of the reform debate debacle of almost a fortnight ago, the St John Deputy is pushing the Privileges and Procedures Committee to establish an independent body with the power to put their own proposals to the States.
